Indian Army secures strategic heights in Ladakh amid military standoff with China

Reports are now suggesting that the Indian Army thwarted attempts by the PLA to capture territory in south Pangong in eastern Ladakh earlier this week. Both India and China have been engaged in a military standoff along the LAC since May of this year.

While reiterating that the way ahead for India and China is through diplomatic dialogue, EAM Dr S Jaishankar on Thursday asked the Chinese not to alter the status quo in Ladakh.
