Punjab Congress drama: Is Captain Amarinder Singh joining BJP?

No end to Congress drama in Punjab. Hours after Navjot Singh Sidhu resigned as Punjab Congress chief, Punjab cabinet minister Razia Sultana, Pargat Singh and Yoginder Dhingra too resigned from their posts.
Meanwhile, former Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh, who is in Delhi amid speculation about his future course of action, is likely to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP presidnet JP Nadda. It is his first visit to the national capital after he resigned on September 18.
Clarifying the reason for Amarinder Singh's visit, his media adviser Raveen Thukral tweeted, "Too much being read into @capt_amarinder's visit to Delhi. He's on a personal visit, during which he'll meet some friends and also vacate Kapurthala house for the new CM. No need for any unnecessary speculation."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday hugged and honoured 98-year-old Makhanlal Sarkar, one of the earliest and senior most members of the BJP. The scene unfolded on the stage ahead of Suvendu Adhikari's swearing-in as West Bengal's Chief Minister in Kolkata. PM Modi also touched Sarkar's feet and presented a shawl to him as a mark of respect. In 1952, Sarkar was arrested in Kashmir while he was accompanying Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee as the latter was marching to hoist the tricolour there. BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya described the elderly party leader as "one of the earliest grassroots figures associated with the nationalist movement in post-Independence India."
