TMC, BJP war escalates in West Bengal; Delhi Metro, bus rides to be free for women in Delhi

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday (May 30) broke open a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Naihati area of North 24 Parganas district and painted her party's name - All India Trinamool Congress - and symbol on the office's saffron wall. The incident allegedly happened on May 30.

Trinamool Congress has claimed that it was their office which was captured by supporters of the newly elected BJP MP Arjun Singh, who had won from Barrackpore after defeating the TMC candidate, Dinesh Trivedi.

This was at least the second such instance in recent weeks when the duo's bonhomie was witnessed publicly. Earlier, during the election campaign in the state, a powerful scene was witnessed when Adhikari bowed down at the feet of the UP Chief Minister as a mark of respect.
