Rishabh Pant included in 1st two India vs West Indies ODIs, Kohli back as captain

Rishabh Pant has been included in the Indian squad for the first two ODIs against West Indies on October 21 (Guwahati) and 24(Visakhapatnam). Pant was in the fray after a Test hundred against England at The Oval and a fine 92 against West Indies in the first Test in Rajkot.
Virat Kohli, who was rested from the Asia Cup, returns for the first two ODIs of the five-match series and will be available throughout the series. Rohit Sharma, who led India successfully in the Asia Cup, has been named Kohli's deputy.
Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have been rested for the first two matches against West Indies. Mohammed Shami returned to the ODI squad while Khaleel Ahmed has retained his place. Shardul Thakur, who had to leave the Asia Cup with an injury, has also been named in the squad.
Ravindra Jadeja, who came on as a replacement during the Asia Cup and impressed with his all-round performances, has also retained his place in the team.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday hugged and honoured 98-year-old Makhanlal Sarkar, one of the earliest and senior most members of the BJP. The scene unfolded on the stage ahead of Suvendu Adhikari's swearing-in as West Bengal's Chief Minister in Kolkata. PM Modi also touched Sarkar's feet and presented a shawl to him as a mark of respect. In 1952, Sarkar was arrested in Kashmir while he was accompanying Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee as the latter was marching to hoist the tricolour there. BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya described the elderly party leader as "one of the earliest grassroots figures associated with the nationalist movement in post-Independence India."
