PM Modi's nari shakti push in Prayagraj, Anti-conversion bill to be tabled today; more

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj today to participate in what the government calls a "one of its kind programme" to be attended by over two lakh women.

PM Modi will initiate transfer of Rs 1,000 crore to Self Help Groups (SHGs) under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM) to benefit about 16 lakh women members.

The Karnataka cabinet on Monday cleared the Karnataka Protection of Right to Freedom of Religion Bill 2021. The bill is likely to be tabled before the House today.

The draft bill proposes a maximum punishment of 10 years of imprisonment for forcible conversion of persons from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe communities, minors and women, to another religion.
