Assam to close down govt-aided madrasas, Opposition cries RSS agenda

Assam Health Minister and BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the state government will close down govt-funded madrasas in the state by November this year.
“The government-aided Madrasas will be converted into regular schools and in certain cases, the teachers will be transferred to state-run schools,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
He further said that if his party returns to power in 2021 then it will eliminate the evils of alleged love jihad.
Meanwhile, Himanta's statement on madarsas along with the focus to end love jihad has sparked a massive controversy with the Opposition alleging RSS agenda behind the move.

BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya described the elderly party leader as "one of the earliest grassroots figures associated with the nationalist movement in post-Independence India."
