This mission is a prelude to Gaganyaan: Nambi Narayanan on Axiom-4 launch

Former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan hailed Shubhanshu Shukla’s Axiom-4 mission and said it was a prelude to the Gaganyaan Mission.

Sharing his thoughts on the Axiom-4 mission, Nambi Narayanan said, "And this is a mission, we consider this as a prelude to the Gaganyaan, which is we are working very hard. And then I think we are going to launch in the year 2027. So this experience is something I mean, it's difficult to tell the experience, the value of the experience. It is fantastic. But for the vehicle, everything else you are learning from here. So this will help us a lot in carrying out Gaganyaan."

He also highlighted the progress made, including successful missions like Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan, and the upcoming Gaganyaan project. The scientist emphasised the importance of funding in space missions and the growing public interest, especially among young people, in India's space endeavours.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday hugged and honoured 98-year-old Makhanlal Sarkar, one of the earliest and senior most members of the BJP. The scene unfolded on the stage ahead of Suvendu Adhikari's swearing-in as West Bengal's Chief Minister in Kolkata. PM Modi also touched Sarkar's feet and presented a shawl to him as a mark of respect. In 1952, Sarkar was arrested in Kashmir while he was accompanying Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee as the latter was marching to hoist the tricolour there. BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya described the elderly party leader as "one of the earliest grassroots figures associated with the nationalist movement in post-Independence India."
