Delhi Capitals co-owner and chairman Parth Jindal has rallied behind his team ahead of a crucial IPL 2026 clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, calling it a turning point in their campaign. With Delhi Capitals placed sixth with three wins from seven matches, the pressure is mounting to revive their playoff push.

Taking to X, Jindal urged unity within the squad and support from fans at a critical juncture.

“Time to turn the heat on @DelhiCapitals we all know how good this squad is - time to be together, time to play together and time to bring our best cricket to the @IPL - this is where our season truly begins.”

The message comes after a heavy defeat to Punjab Kings, where DC failed to defend 264, a result that exposed key gaps despite a strong batting performance.

WHY IS RCB CLASH IMPORTANT FOR DC?

The clash against RCB is vital for Delhi’s season trajectory. With just three wins in seven games, DC are outside the top four and need momentum quickly to stay in the playoff race.

Their loss to Punjab highlighted recurring issues. Despite posting one of the highest totals of the season, they conceded 265, raising serious concerns around their death bowling and fielding standards.

Facing an RCB side that sits second on the table with five wins from seven matches and a strong net run rate, the challenge is significant. RCB’s batting lineup has consistently crossed the 200-run mark this season, making discipline with the ball crucial for Delhi.

There are also selection concerns. Lungi Ngidi, who has seven wickets this season, may miss out after his recent injury. Mitchell Starc has joined the squad but is still working his way back to match fitness, which could push Dushmantha Chameera into a bigger role.

HOW HAVE DC BEEN IN IPL 2026?

Delhi’s campaign has followed a familiar pattern. They started with two wins but have since lost four of their last five matches, slipping down the standings.

The batting has been a clear positive. KL Rahul and Nitish Rana stitched together a massive 220-run stand against Punjab, underlining their form. The middle order, with Tristan Stubbs and David Miller, has added stability, while options like Sameer Rizvi and Ashutosh Sharma provide depth.

However, the bowling numbers tell a different story. Only two DC bowlers feature in the top 20 wicket-takers this season, with captain Axar Patel and Ngidi leading with seven wickets each. The lack of consistency in the powerplay and at the death has hurt them repeatedly.

Historically, RCB have dominated this fixture, winning 20 of the 34 matches between the sides, while Delhi have managed 13 wins with one no result. One of those wins came earlier this season, when a match-winning effort from Miller helped DC edge past RCB.
