Mumbai Indians' latest post on X has set off fresh chatter around Arshdeep Singh's "andhera" jibe at Tilak Varma, with many fans reading it as a pointed response after MI's win over Punjab Kings. The clip, which celebrated Tilak's match-winning knock, quickly went viral and pushed an already discussed exchange back into the spotlight.

The debate began after a Snapchat video featuring Arshdeep and Tilak surfaced online on Thursday, May 14. In the clip, the Punjab Kings pacer, known for his candid social media presence, was seen in a light-hearted exchange with the Mumbai Indians batter, jokingly referring to Tilak as "andhere", teasing him about using sunscreen, and pointing at Naman Dhir as the real "noor" from Punjab. While the interaction appeared friendly, several social media users criticised Arshdeep, saying the remarks carried racist undertones.

Tidak, however, appeared unaffected by the noise around the video. The left-hander went on to score 75 off 33 balls to take Mumbai Indians over the line and collected the major awards after the game. MI then posted a video of Tilak with his awards, but it was the way the clip opened that drew attention online.

The video began in darkness, with the line "Andhera tera main le liya" from the song Channa Mereya playing in the background. That detail was enough to get fans talking across X and Instagram, where many claimed it was a direct dig by Mumbai Indians at Arshdeep and Punjab Kings.

BAN FOR ARSHDEEP?

The matter also drew a response from former India spinner and commentator Laxman Sivaramakrishnan, who said the BCCI should act against Arshdeep over the remarks made towards Tilak. "I told you guys. Tilak can’t say anything now as he is in early part of his career. But BCCI with this proof can take action," Sivaramakrishnan said.

So far, there has been no official comment from Arshdeep, Punjab Kings, the IPL or Tilak Varma on the controversy. But with MI's post adding another layer to an already sensitive exchange, the episode has continued to gather attention online.
