Hazlewood returned to the XI against Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati but had an underwhelming outing. He picked up the wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag, but conceded 44 runs in his four overs as RCB beat the Royals by six wickets at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium.
The Australian pacer also endured a torrid over against 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who smashed 4, 4, 4, 6. The youngster handled pace, length and variation with ease—cutting, lofting and driving fluently before pulling a slower bouncer into the stands, leaving Hazlewood stunned.
MI, meanwhile, have replaced mystery spinner AM Ghazanfar with Kiwi skipper Mitchell Santner. The five-time champions started with a win over Kolkata Knight Riders at home, but then lost both their away matches against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals.
RCB began their campaign with a win over Sunrisers Hyderabad at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, before defeating Chennai Super Kings at home.
