Amit Shah named Bengal observer as BJP brainstorms chief minister pick
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been appointed as the central observer for West Bengal as the party brainstorms to select the next Chief Minister of the state.
Former India captain MS Dhoni arrived with his wife Sakshi Dhoni to attend the wedding of Arjun Tendulkar and Saaniya Chandhok in Mumbai on Wednesday. The ceremony drew several well-known faces from the cricketing world, many of whom share a long-standing association with Arjun’s father, Sachin Tendulkar.
Dhoni, who played alongside Tendulkar for many years with the Indian team, was seen entering the venue in a traditional bandhgala outfit, while Sakshi chose a simple embroidered suit for the occasion. The couple greeted guests and joined the Tendulkar family for the celebrations as the wedding ceremony got underway.
Arjun Tendulkar and Saaniya Chandhok will tie the knot on March 5 in Mumbai after a series of pre-wedding celebrations. The couple got engaged on August 25 last year.
The Mumbai ceremony saw several former cricketers and close friends of Sachin Tendulkar in attendance. Former India head coach Rahul Dravid, former captain Anil Kumble, World Cup-winning all-rounder Yuvraj Singh and former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan were among the prominent guests seen arriving at the venue.
Officials from the cricket administration were also present for the ceremony. India’s chief selector Ajit Agarkar attended the event with his wife, while International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman, Jay Shah was also among those spotted at the venue.
Apart from the cricketing fraternity, the wedding attracted guests from other fields as well. Filmmaker and actor Ashutosh Gowariker attended with his wife, film producer Sunita Gowariker, while Maharashtra minister Ashish Shelar was also present.
