West Indies vice-captain Jomel Warrican explained why the visitors decided to bat first in Ahmedabad as they suffered a major collapse in the first innings. The visitors scored just 162 runs in Ahmedabad as India got off to a strong start in their first innings. 

 

Obviously, we know that we get a lot of turn here, so we didn't want to bat last on the wicket. So once we won the toss as a team, we decided that we wanted to bat," said Warrican.
