Sourav Ganguly heaped praises on Virat Kohli after the Indian captain scored his 35th One-Day International hundred to guide India to a 5-1 ODI series victory over South Africa on Friday.
Kohli became the only player to score over 500 runs in a bilateral series and with that, India beat South Africa by a massive margin of eight wickets in the sixth and final ODI at Centurion to demolish the Proteas in their own backyard.
Ganguly was in awe of Kohli's consistency and said that he has only got better. Stating Kohli's century statistics, Ganguly said that last three years of Kohli have been phenomenal.
"Absolutely fantastic and one man, Virat Kohli. He has only got better and better and shouldered the responsibility in the one-day series. Three hundreds in six games, phenomenal player. 35 hundreds in 208 games and he still has 7-8 years of cricket left. What we have seen in the last three years of Virat Kohli, he is batting at another level. Whether he continues that for the next 7-8 years, only time will tell but what we have seen in these three years has been phenomenal," Ganguly said to India Today.
