Sony PlayStation Plus gets price hike in India, check new prices here
Sony has quietly made PlayStation Plus a pricier affair in India, across all tiers. Existing subscribers till July 19 will continue to pay the old price. Here is what we know so far.

Sony has increased the pricing of its PlayStation Plus subscription plans in India across all membership tiers, which includes Essential, Extra, and Deluxe. The company has started informing existing subscribers about the revised pricing through email communication, citing “ongoing market conditions” behind the price adjustment.
The updated pricing is already live on Sony’s PlayStation website and applies to both new and existing users. Existing subscribers, however, will continue paying the old price until their next billing cycle on or after July 19.
PS Plus subscription prices increased in India
With the latest revision, the starting price for a one-month PS Plus Essential subscription has increased from Rs 499 to Rs 649. Meanwhile, the three-month Essential plan now costs Rs 1,559 instead of Rs 1,199, while the annual subscription has jumped from Rs 3,949 to Rs 5,139.
Sony has also increased pricing for the higher tiers. The PS Plus Extra plan now starts at Rs 979 for one month, up from Rs 749. The three-month plan now costs Rs 2,599, while the yearly subscription has increased to Rs 8,709.
Similarly, the PS Plus Deluxe membership now costs Rs 1,109 for one month, Rs 2,989 for three months, and Rs 9,879 for the annual plan. Previously, the Deluxe yearly subscription was priced at Rs 7,599.
Existing subscribers get temporary relief
Sony says the revised pricing will immediately apply to all new subscribers in India. However, for existing PS Plus members, the changes will only take effect from the next payment date occurring on or after July 19.
The company also clarified that if a user’s subscription renews before July 19, they will still be charged according to the old pricing structure. However, any modifications made to the subscription before that date — such as upgrading or downgrading membership tiers or extending subscription duration — will automatically shift the account to the new pricing.
The India price hike comes shortly after Sony increased PlayStation Plus subscription pricing in select global markets last week. At the time, the company attributed the move to changing market conditions.
