Patna cop caught on camera taking Rs 1500 bribe from rickshaw owner

A Patna police constable has been caught on camera taking bribe of Rs. 1500/- from a auto rickshaw owner. Brij Bihari Tiwary, who is posted as traffic constable was couple of days back seen on camera accepting the bribe from auto rickshaw owner. According to sources, someone known to the traffic constable shot this video while the auto rickshaw owner gave the bribe money to him. The video which has now gone viral has compelled the senior police officers to act. Patna SSP Manu Maharaj after seeing the video had asked the Patna Traffic SP Prantosh Das to send a report regarding the case. Traffic SP after conducting the preliminary inquiry found the constable guilty of taking bribe. Traffic SP on Friday submitted a report to the Patna SSP following which the SSP suspended Brij Bihari Tiwary with immediate effect.

Video: PM Modi hugs, touches feet of 98-year-old BJP veteran in Bengal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday hugged and honoured 98-year-old Makhanlal Sarkar, one of the earliest and senior most members of the BJP. The scene unfolded on the stage ahead of Suvendu Adhikari's swearing-in as West Bengal's Chief Minister in Kolkata. PM Modi also touched Sarkar's feet and presented a shawl to him as a mark of respect. In 1952, Sarkar was arrested in Kashmir while he was accompanying Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee as the latter was marching to hoist the tricolour there. BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya described the elderly party leader as "one of the earliest grassroots figures associated with the nationalist movement in post-Independence India."
