Sen highlighted concerns that Indian Muslims and residents of Santiniketan could face bias. This news bulletin covers the Trinamool Congress (TMC) welcoming a landmark Supreme Court direction regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in West Bengal. The court has ordered the Election Commission to publicly publish the names of approximately 1.3 crore individuals who received notices under the 'logical discrepancy' category. Furthermore, the court has allowed Booth Level Agents (BLAs) from political parties to accompany individuals to their hearings, a move the TMC views as a significant victory. The programme highlights how the TMC challenged the Election Commission's enumeration methods, claiming the ruling provides relief against arbitrary notices. India Today correspondent Indrajit Kundu provides insights into how the party representatives will now assist in the hearing process following this judicial intervention.
