Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is a franchise cricket team based in Hyderabad, Telangana, competing in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Popularly known by its abbreviation SRH, the team is owned by Kalanithi Maran of the Sun Group. The franchise was founded in 2012 after the termination and subsequent auction of the Deccan Chargers. SRH's home ground is the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, which has a seating capacity of 55,000.

After the bankruptcy of Deccan Chronicle, the Sun TV Network took over the franchise.

Over the years, SRH has been captained by notable players such as David Warner, Kane Williamson, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Aiden Markram. The team's coaching staff has consistently featured experienced and strategic leaders, including Brian Lara, Tom Moody, and Trevor Bayliss.

SRH debuted in the IPL in 2013, reaching the playoffs and finishing fourth. The team captured its maiden IPL title in 2016 by defeating the Royal Challengers Bangalore by 8 runs in a thrilling final. Between 2016 and 2020, SRH maintained an impressive streak, qualifying for the playoffs every season. David Warner, the recipient of the Orange Cap three times (2015, 2017, and 2019), remains the team's highest run-scorer.

For the IPL 2025 season, SRH retained five key players. Heinrich Klaasen emerged as the most expensive retention at ₹23 crore, followed by Pat Cummins at ₹18 crore. Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head were retained for ₹14 crore each. Pat Cummins has been entrusted with leadership as the team captain for the 2025 season.
