There's no point carrying your selfie stick to these tourist destinations

Selfie mania may be gripping the youth today. But some destinations around the world won't allow you to indulge in the same. So if you are heading to any of these places, you can leave you selfie stick at home.

Milan

Only recently did Milan impose a ban on selfie sticks, along with food trucks and drinks around the town hall, to tackle the onslaught of tourist traffic. 

United Kingdom

If you are visiting museums and galleries in London, you will need to check in your selfie stick. Places like Westminster Abbey, Tower of London, St. Paul's Cathedral, among other such architectural sites, have banned the selfie stick. The same holds true for some sporting venues around the capital city.

Estate of Versailles

Enjoy the beauty of this destination in France, as much as you want. But capturing a selfie at the place is not a luxury that is granted. Selfie sticks are not allowed at the site for security reasons, claim the officials of the royal palace.

Museums in New York

Big Apple is one of the recent entrants in the list. While a lot of museums have already banned the stick, including Met, the MOMA and Brooklyn Museum, other tourist spots in New York are also restricting its use.

Japan and China

Pulling out your selfie stick at stations on Japan's JR West train system is a strict no-no. Selfie sticks are also prohibited at China's Palace Museum.

Middle East

The National Museum of Iran banned selfies recently. Besides, Mecca is Saudi Arabia doesn't exactly accommodate the selfie sticks well enough.

Disney parks

The ban on selfie sticks, that was imposed in 2015, on Disney parks around the world, stills remains intact.  

Coachella

No matter how much excitement the very name of the festival inspires in you, Coachella won't let you document your fun through selfie sticks. 

Rio de Janeiro

Enjoy the colours of the carnival parade in this destination. But you may be frowned upon if you take out your selfie stick from the bag.
