Chaos at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner didn’t stop some attendees from grabbing wine bottles, videos of which are now circulating online.

The event held at the Washington Hilton, attended by US President Donald Trump, the First Lady, journalists, and public figures, was disrupted when a security breach triggered an emergency response. As reports of gunfire emerged, guests inside the packed ballroom were seen ducking under tables while security personnel moved quickly to secure the area.

Amid the confusion, clips that later surfaced online captured a contrasting moment. In one video, a woman is seen picking up two wine bottles, while in the background, a few others are also seen holding bottles.

The visuals quickly drew criticism, with users questioning the timing of such actions during a tense situation.

According to reports, the situation escalated around 8.30 pm ET when an individual rushed towards the ballroom where the President was present. At nearly the same time, outside the venue, a man carrying a shotgun attempted to breach a security checkpoint and fired shots. Secret Service agents responded immediately, leading to a brief exchange of gunfire outside the building.

Even as the seriousness of the incident dominated headlines, another moment from the evening went viral for a very different reason. A guest, identified as Michael Glantz, was seen calmly remaining seated and continuing to eat while others took cover, his reaction standing in stark contrast to the chaos around him.

Together, the clips have turned the evening into a talking point online, highlighting not just the security scare, but also how differently people respond in moments of crisis.
