A Noida resident has sparked a heated conversation online after calling luxury high-rise living “hellish” despite living in a society packed with premium amenities like swimming pools, sports courts and a lavish clubhouse.

In a now-viral Instagram video, Puneet Jindal shared his frustrations with modern apartment life, arguing that expensive flats and luxury facilities often fail to compensate for the stress, pollution and lack of comfort that come with dense urban living.

“I am sharing my experience. A flat worth crores has zero value, zero in my eyes,” Jindal said in the clip.

The video begins with him showing viewers around his residential society, highlighting facilities such as the swimming pool, clubhouse, basketball and volleyball courts, yoga areas, steam bath and sauna.

“Let me show you some good things first,” he says while filming the society grounds.

However, the tone of the video quickly changes once he begins talking about everyday life inside the apartment itself.

“Why this feels like hell, let me start telling you a bit of the story behind it,” he says, before describing how smells from the open kitchen spread across the house and trigger sneezing whenever food is being prepared nearby.

Jindal also complained about foul odours near toilet areas and the heat generated by dozens of air conditioners running simultaneously in high-rise towers.

“Everyone's AC is running, brother. This whole place becomes a furnace there is no such thing as fresh air here,” he said.

Beyond physical discomfort, he also criticised the financial burden of urban home ownership, arguing that many people spend decades trapped in home loan repayments.

“A 20-year loan 50, 60, 70% of your salary goes into the loan. You are at risk. You are a slave,” he said.

Comparing city life with village living, Jindal claimed that lower expenses, cleaner air and slower lifestyles often make smaller towns more peaceful despite lower salaries.

The video quickly divided the internet. While some users felt he was exaggerating, many surprisingly agreed with him, saying modern high-rise societies often look glamorous from outside but can feel exhausting and isolating in daily life.
