A woman’s account of an allegedly disturbing late-night Rapido ride from Delhi to Greater Noida has gone viral online after she claimed the driver harassed her during the trip and continued contacting her afterwards from multiple phone numbers. Following the post, Rapido issued a public response as well.

The incident was shared on Instagram by Shaivya Vashishtha, who said the ride took place in 2025 but she decided to speak about it publicly only now. According to her, she wanted to see whether “the internet still has power” when it comes to amplifying women’s safety concerns.

In her post, Shaivya also uploaded screenshots of an email she claimed to have sent to Rapido soon after the incident.

Describing the ride, she alleged that the driver repeatedly played sexually suggestive songs and kept asking intrusive questions about her personal life and family during the journey. She said the behaviour left her feeling increasingly uneasy.

But according to her, the ordeal did not end once she reached home.

Shaivya claimed that the driver began calling her continuously after the ride. Even after blocking his number, she claimed she started receiving calls and messages from several different numbers. She further alleged that at one point, the man video-called her from a bathroom, which she described as deeply traumatising.

Her video quickly gained traction online, with many users expressing anger and concern in the comments section. Several women also shared their own uncomfortable experiences involving cab and bike taxi rides, saying late-night travel often feels unsafe despite platform safety promises.

Responding publicly, Rapido said the behaviour described by the woman was “completely unacceptable” and added that customer numbers are masked on the platform. The company asked her to share ride details and her registered phone number through direct messages so the matter could be investigated urgently.

The incident has once again reignited discussions online around passenger safety, data privacy and the vulnerability many women feel while travelling alone at night.
