Karachi's cocaine queen' gets VIP treatment after arrest, viral video sparks row
The video showed that Anmol—dressed in a blue T-shirt and violet palazzo pants—appeared in court without handcuffs, being escorted with a level of respect and guidance by a police officer who has since drawn scrutiny.

The arrest of alleged narcotics trafficker Anmol, commonly known as ‘Pinky’ or the ‘Cocaine Queen,' has sparked significant controversy in Karachi following a viral video of her court appearance that raised serious questions regarding police protocol.
The video showed that Anmol—dressed in a blue T-shirt and violet palazzo pants—appeared in court without handcuffs, being escorted with a level of respect and guidance by a police officer who has since drawn scrutiny. These actions created a stir as many accused the administration of providing her with preferential treatment.
Amid a major public outcry and allegations of standard operating procedure violations, Karachi Police Chief Javed Alam Odho has ordered a formal inquiry into the incident. The officers involved in escorting the suspect had reportedly been suspended, and separate inquiry committees have been established to investigate why the established protocols for handling high-profile suspects were bypassed during the court proceedings.
A few days back, the police arrested Anmol in a major crackdown, alleging that she spearheaded an extensive cocaine distribution network spanning Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.
As per the police reports, the operation led to the recovery of cocaine worth millions of rupees alongside drug-manufacturing chemicals and a cache of firearms. Investigators believe the network evaded detection for a long period by utilising female couriers and employing mobile production units to stay on the move.
However, the focus shifted from the success of the Karachi police to the alleged preferential treatment once the video surfaced.
