US-Iran War Highlights: Iran FM Abbas Araghchi leaves Pakistan after meeting Sharif, Munir

US-Iran War Highlights: The situation in the Middle East remains tense as military activity and diplomatic efforts continue at the same time. The USS George HW Bush has arrived in the region, increasing the number of US aircraft carriers in operation there to three. Donald Trump has stated that any deal with Iran will be made only when it is “appropriate and good” for the United States. Iranian leaders, including President Masoud Pezeshkian, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and judiciary chief Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, have rejected claims that there are divisions within the country’s leadership. The US has taken further military steps. The US President has ordered the Navy to “shoot and kill” Iranian boats suspected of placing mines in the Strait of Hormuz. The US military has also intensified mine-clearing operations in the waterway. In addition, the Pentagon said US forces boarded the tanker Majestic X in the Indian Ocean. These developments come after the US extended a ceasefire with Iran, although there is no formal extension or confirmed timeline for further talks. Diplomatic efforts are continuing alongside military developments. The United States is hosting a second round of talks between Israel and Lebanon in Washington. The discussions are focused on extending a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah. Both sides have carried out strikes during the truce period. So far, there is no clear deadline for ending the conflict or for reaching a new agreement. Catch all the live updates at indiatoday.tech.
