A Hezbollah source said the man had previously been detained after parking a motorbike on a key road leading to Beirut airport in the southern suburbs, an area where the group maintains tight security.

âSpain strongly condemns these events. It demands that the origin of the projectile be clarified. And it calls on the Israeli government to halt the hostilities,â Sanchez said. He added that attacks on UN peacekeeping missions are âan unjustifiable aggression against the entire international communityâ.
Middle East Conflict: Rubio says US unsure if Iran figures in talks hold real power
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington will have to wait and see whether the figures it is engaging with in Iran ultimately come to power, as uncertainty surrounds ongoing contacts.
Speaking after remarks by Donald Trump about talks with a âmore reasonableâ Iranian leadership, Rubio said the US must also prepare for the âprobabilityâ that negotiations could fail. He declined to disclose who Washington is speaking to, saying revealing details âwould probably get them in trouble with some other groups inside of Iranâ.
âBut at the end of the day we have to see if these people end up being the ones in charge,â he added.
West Asia War: UN says blast kills 2 peacekeepers in Lebanon
The UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon (UNIFIL) said two of its members were killed in southern Lebanon on Monday after an explosion of "unknown origin" destroyed their vehicle. It said a third peacekeeper was severely wounded and another was also injured in the incident, which took place near the Bani Haiyyan municipality.

Iran and France have held talks over the US-Israel war, with both sides discussing its wider security and economic impact on the region. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi spoke with his French counterpart Jean-Noel Barro in a telephone call.
According to a statement, Barro stressed Franceâs opposition to what he described as an âimposed warâ on Iran and attacks on civilian targets. The bloc said members will keep sharing information and coordinating closely with each other and international partners, and remain prepared to meet again if the situation worsens.
Middle East Conflict: Rubio says Hormuz will reopen ‘one way or another’
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said the Strait of Hormuz will reopen âone way or anotherâ once military operations in Iran conclude. Speaking to Al Jazeera, Rubio said the waterway would either reopen with Iranâs consent or through an international coalition that includes the United States.
He added that Washingtonâs objectives in Iran are clear and could be achieved âwithin weeks, not monthsâ. Rubio also warned that if Iran attempts to shut the Strait after the operation ends, it would face âsevere consequencesâ.
