Celebrated globally by the Muslim community, Bakrid, also known as Eid ul-Adha or Eid al-Adha, is an important Islamic festival.
It commemorates the story of Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to Allah. As a symbol of this devotion, Muslims perform animal sacrifices, known as Qurbani, during Bakrid.

The TVK managed to secure the Governor's nod to form the government after the Congress, the CPI, the CPI(M), the VCK, and IUML extended their support to the Vijay-led party for a colaition government.
