In a major announcement, Donald J. Trump unveiled a peace proposal aimed at ending the war in Gaza. The plan calls for the creation of a new international oversight body, 'the Board of Peace', which will be headed by 'a gentleman known as President Donald J. Trump of the United States'. The proposal includes the release of all hostages within 72 hours, the demilitarisation of Gaza by Arab and Muslim nations, and a phased withdrawal of Israeli forces. The speaker stated that former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair has expressed interest in joining the board. If Hamas rejects the deal, the plan notes that Israel would have 'the absolute right and actually our full backing... to finish the job of destroying the threat of Hamas'.

PM Modi also touched Sarkar's feet and presented a shawl to him as a mark of respect. In 1952, Sarkar was arrested in Kashmir while he was accompanying Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee as the latter was marching to hoist the tricolour there. BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya described the elderly party leader as "one of the earliest grassroots figures associated with the nationalist movement in post-Independence India."
