Pervez Musharraf gets death penalty in treason case

Pakistan's former military ruler Pervez Musharraf was on Tuesday sentenced to death in the high treason case by a special court here. A three-member bench of the special court, headed by Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth, handed Musharraf, 76, death sentence in the long-drawn high treason case against Pervez Musharraf.

Video: Vijay takes oath as Tamil Nadu CM amid loud cheers and chants

TVK leader C Joseph Vijay on Sunday took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu amid a sea of supporters, his friends and family, and several political leaders. Eight other TVK leaders were sworn in besides him, as ministers in the new government. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also attended the ceremony.
