Nepal Earthquake and Avalanche in Mt Everest

An earthquake with a magnitude of about 7.8 struck Nepal, with the epicentre about 50 miles north-west of the capital Kathmandu on 25th April. This is said to be the deadliest earthquake to have struck the Himalayan country. It claimed the lives of nearly 9000 people in Nepal. The earthquake also triggered an Avalanche on Mount Everest  and took the lives of at least 19 people. It also ravaged neighboring countries,  like India where 130 deaths were reported and 27 in China.

2015 Hindu Kush earthquake
 
A massive Earthquake measuring 7.5 on the Richter Scale rattled the Afghanistan, Pakistan and India on October 26th. The quake epicentred in the Hindukush mountain range in Afghnisthan struck at around 2:40 pm.  The earthquake killed 115 in Afghanisthan, 279 in Pakistan and 4 people from Jammu and Kahsmir.

Indonesia forest fires-the years worst environmental disaster

Also known as the South-East Asian Haze started in the month of September affecting several South East Asian Countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunie, Veitnam and Cambodia.
 
The forest forest fires and peatland fires were raging out of control turning it into one of the worst eco-disasters on the planet.The fires forced multiple evacuation and triggered a large scale respiratory illness among people living in and around the region.  

The smoke columns were so massive that they could be see from outer space.

 Wildfire in western US
 
On June 14, 2015 wildfires raging in four west coasts states forced more than 1000 people to be evacuated from their homes. The fires were caused by very dry weather conditions and was exacerbated by the spread of strong winds.

Chennai Floods 

The annual Northeast Monsoons in the month of November-December 2015, brought in unprecedented heavy rainfalls in the city of Chennai and many parts of Tamil Nadu which claimed the lives of more than 400 people. 
 
The floods ravaged the entire  city and left thousands of people homeless. The entire city came to a stand still but the floods united the people of Chennai and brought about the best show of humanity. The Indian Army was an unstoppable force in rescuing hundreds of people who were stranded in different parts of the city.

Record-Breaking Flooding in South Carolina

A deadly storm ravaged South Carolina in October breaking several dams and causing unprecedented floods. The floods claimed the lives of 19 people.

In the wake of the  severe storms caused widespread flooding . Obama ordered federal aid to supplement state and local response efforts, and he authorized federal agencies to coordinate disaster relief efforts in the state.

Super Typhoon Soudelor Stikes the Pacific

The typhoon barrelled through the Pacific Ocean in August and it was officially recorded to be the strongest storm of the year by the Japan Meterorological agency. Soudelor had severe impacts in the Northern Mariana Islands, Taiwan, and eastern China, resulting in at least 38 confirmed fatalities.

Strong winds and torrential rains left 3.62 million households without electricity. Hundreds of flights were delayed or cancelled and more than 9,900 people were evacuated from their homes.

Silicy's Mount Etna erupted twice in December one was the biggest eruption in the past two years. 

Italy's Mount Etna, Europe's tallest and most active volcano, spews lava as it erupts on the southern island of Sicily, on Nov. 17.

Indonesia Mount Raung Eruption
 
6,650-foot blast of ash and debris combined with ash from the Gamalama and Dukono mountains, the Sinabung volcano and Mount Karangetang to darken the skies in July. Airports were closed and 37 flights to and from Bali's Ngurah Rai airport were canceled.

The June eruption of Indonesia's Mount Sinabung left more than 3,000 people within a 4-plus mile radius of the volcano displaced from their homes.

Hurrican Patricia was the strongest tropical cyclone to have been recorded in the Western Hemisphere. It made Lnadfall on October 23rd, however it lost power as in moved inland across Mexico.   Although the Hurricane weakened into a tropical it predicted to be 'potentially catastrophic'. It brought with it destructive wind and rain but major damages were dodged  after it downgraded into a tropical storm.

Devastating Mudslide in China 85 people missing

A  huge mound of mud and construction waste collapsed at a business park in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen in Guangdong province on 20th December 2015  burying 22 buildings and leaving 91 people missing.

China defence ministry's website said police and military forces were in a "race against time" and were using drones to map out the scene and life-detecting probes to find possible signs of survivors.
