Kicked me in belly, threw me out of counting centre: Mamata on 'CRPF goons'
A defiant Mamata Banerjee, addressing a press conference, claimed the TMC didn't lose the elections as 100 seats were 'forcibly taken away' and thus the question of her resignation doesn't arise.

Refusing to concede defeat, a defiant Trinamool chief, Mamata Banerjee, on Tuesday claimed she was "kicked in the belly" and "backside" by "CRPF goons" when she visited the counting centre in Bhabanipur. Addressing a press conference, Mamata claimed the TMC didn't lose the elections as 100 seats were "forcibly taken away" and thus the question of her resigning doesn't arise.
The remarks by the mercurial TMC supremo come a day after the BJP swept the Bengal elections, the last opposition citadel in the east, winning 207 seats. Mamata even failed to hold on to her Bhabanipur seat, losing it to her once close aide Suvendu Adhikari.
"There is no question of my resignation. I will not go to Raj Bhavan. We did not lose the election," Mamata said.
'CRPF JAWANS BEHAVED LIKE GOONS'
The 71-year-old also said she was assaulted at a polling station in Bhabanipur. "I was kicked in the belly and back. The CCTV was off. I was pushed out of the counting station (dhakka marke nikala). As a woman, I was misbehaved with," she said.
"Central force jawans behaved like goons outside counting centres," she further said.
The outgoing chief minister of Bengal asserted that the BJP and the Election Commission were complicit in what she termed a "conspiracy" rather than a people's mandate.
The loss in Bhabanipur, Mamata's political home turf, leaves the TMC chief without any electoral office for the first time in three decades. Since 1984, she has either been an MP or an MLA.
'COUNTING MEIN KHELA HOGA'
On Monday, Mamata was defeated in Bhabanipur by around 15,000 votes. However, the TMC supremo claimed that she would have won by a 32,000 margin if the BJP had not done 'vote chori'.
"I was leading by about 30,000, and about 5 rounds were left. We should have got more than 32,000," Mamata said. It was then that Mamata claimed BJP members entered the counting centres and began assaulting people, including counting agents.
"The BJP candidate went inside along with 200 CRPF personnel and 200 outside goons, then they beat up our people. Even women were not spared, and they snatched away all forms," she further said, without naming Suvendu.
Mamata said that after she came to know of this, she went herself to check. She claimed that she had received a message 15 days ago from the District Election Officer (DO) that "counting mein khela hoga".
The fiery Bengal leader claimed her car was first stopped in the Jodhpur Park area. However, she took another route. At the counting centre, Mamata claimed the CRPF personnel stopped her from entering.
"It was all happening in a one-sided manner," Mamata said.
"When I managed to enter briefly, I was physically assaulted, they kicked me in the stomach and from behind, abused me, and manhandled me," she further said. The TMC chief said at that time the CCTVs were switched off.
Mamata said she would form a fact-finding committee to probe these irregularities.
