The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a corruption case against former NCB officer Sameer Wankhede. Wankhede had arrested Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan in a drugs case in October 2021.

The CBI has booked Wankhede for criminal conspiracy and extortion by threat. 

The details of the FIR revealed that Sameer Wankhede was planning to extort Rs 25 crore in the Aryan Khan case. The NCB initiated a vigilance probe against Sameer Wankhede and other officials regarding the Aryan Khan case.
