US President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran's president has asked the United States for a ceasefire. In a detailed statement, Trump said Iran's new regime president is 'much less radicalised and far more intelligent than his predecessors'. He stated the US will consider a ceasefire 'when Hormuz Strait is open, free, and clear. Until then, we are blasting Iran into oblivion'. Iran has not yet formally responded to Trump's latest claim. Iran has previously denied several claims made by Trump and maintains it has laid down five conditions. Trump is scheduled to deliver a statement on the West Asia war at 6:30am India time. Meanwhile, Kerala's Vattiyoorkavu assembly constituency witnesses a three-way contest between CPIM's V.K. Prashanth, Congress's K. Muralidharan, and BJP's R. Srilekha.
