Sharper styling with EV-specific touches

The 2026 Tiago EV is set to receive a redesigned front fascia featuring sleeker LED headlamps paired with LED daytime running lamps. Staying true to its electric identity, the hatchback will continue with a closed-off grille finished in body colour, while the bumper design has been revised with vertically positioned black trim inserts for a sportier appearance.

At the rear, Tata is likely to introduce connected-style tail-lamps featuring multiple vertical LED elements linked by a thick gloss-black strip. The facelift is also expected to add a roof-mounted spoiler and newly designed aerodynamic alloy wheels, likely measuring 14 inches.

Refreshed cabin with upgraded tech

Inside, the Tiago EV facelift is expected to feature a redesigned dashboard finished in a dual-tone black-and-grey theme. Tata is also likely to introduce a cleaner dashboard layout with floating-style infotainment and driver display screens positioned higher for improved visibility.

The centre console has reportedly been reworked, while gloss-black inserts are expected to give the cabin a more premium look. Feature additions could include a 360-degree camera, rear AC vents, dual wireless smartphone chargers and a six-speaker audio setup.

Other likely additions include a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, tyre-pressure monitoring system (TPMS), cooled glovebox and electrically adjustable ORVMs. Safety is also expected to see a major upgrade, with six airbags likely to be offered as standard across the range.

Possible battery and efficiency upgrades

While Tata Motors has not officially confirmed the mechanical specifications yet, the outgoing Tiago EV is currently offered with 19.2kWh and 24kWh battery packs paired with 61hp and 75hp electric motors, respectively. These versions deliver claimed MIDC ranges of 223km and 293km.

For the facelift, Tata could introduce improved battery technology with higher energy density, similar to the updates seen on the Tata Punch EV. The updated Tiago EV may also adopt Tata’s newer 6-in-1 integrated electric powertrain aimed at improving efficiency, packaging and overall driving range.

Expected price and rivals

The current Tiago EV is priced between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 11.14 lakh (ex-showroom), and the facelifted model is expected to command a slight premium over the outgoing version. Tata may also continue or expand its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme to make the EV more accessible by lowering the upfront ownership cost.

Once launched, the updated Tiago EV will continue to compete against rivals such as the MG Comet EV and Citroen eC3 in the entry-level electric car segment.
