2026 Tata Tiago to launch tomorrow: What to expect from the facelifted Tiago
Ahead of its launch on May 28, the 2026 Tata Tiago promises sharper styling, upgraded features, improved safety and refreshed interiors while retaining its familiar petrol and CNG powertrain options.

Tata Motors is all set to launch the updated 2026 Tata Tiago on May 28, bringing a refreshed design and feature additions to its entry-level hatchback. While the overall silhouette remains familiar, the upcoming Tiago receives noticeable cosmetic and equipment upgrades aimed at keeping it competitive in the affordable hatchback segment.
The facelifted Tiago is expected to command a slight premium over the outgoing model, with introductory prices likely to begin around Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom). The current Tiago is priced between Rs 4.60 lakh and Rs 7.68 lakh (ex-showroom).
Sharper styling with redesigned front and rear sections
The 2026 Tiago gets a more modern appearance with heavily revised front and rear styling. Up front, the hatchback now features sleeker LED headlamps paired with LED daytime running lights, giving it a more aggressive face. Tata has also redesigned the grille and front bumper, both of which receive blacked-out treatment for added contrast.
Another notable update is the inclusion of pixel-style LED fog lamps and front camera modules integrated into the bumper. Along the side profile, the hatchback gets freshly designed alloy wheels, black wheel arch cladding and ORVM-mounted cameras.
At the rear, the Tiago now sports connected LED tail-lamps, adding a wider visual stance. The bumper has also been revised with a chunkier black insert and repositioned reverse lamp setup.
Cabin receives a cleaner and more upright layout
Inside, Tata has reworked the dashboard design to offer a more contemporary layout. The cabin continues with a dual-tone black-and-light-grey colour scheme, but now gets a more upright dashboard structure along with a new free-standing digital driver’s display.
The two-spoke steering wheel has also been updated and now carries an illuminated Tata logo. The infotainment unit appears largely unchanged, although the overall dashboard layout has been reorganised for a cleaner look. The ‘TIAGO’ branding on the dashboard has now shifted lower toward the climate control section.
New features include 360-degree camera and dual wireless chargers
Feature additions form a major part of the 2026 update. Tata has confirmed the inclusion of a 360-degree camera system and dual wireless smartphone chargers. The CNG-AMT variants will also get paddle shifters, a segment-first feature for a factory-fitted CNG automatic hatchback.
The updated Tiago is also expected to bring back the 6-speaker audio system that was removed in the MY25 update. Existing features such as automatic climate control, rear AC vents and cooled glovebox are likely to continue.
On the safety front, the hatchback is expected to offer six airbags as standard across variants, a significant improvement over the current model. Other safety features are likely to include tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), rear parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
Same petrol and CNG powertrains expected
Mechanically, Tata is unlikely to make any major changes to the Tiago. The hatchback is expected to continue with the familiar 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 86hp, alongside a CNG version developing 75.5hp.
Both powertrains are likely to be offered with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT.
Rivals
Once launched, the updated Tiago will continue to compete against rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Maruti Suzuki Swift and Maruti Suzuki Celerio in the affordable hatchback space.
