2026 Tata Tiago CNG AMT to get paddle shifters and rotary gear knob
Tata Motors is set to launch the 2026 Tata Tiago CNG with segment-first paddle shifters, a rotary gear selector, refreshed styling and upgraded cabin technology ahead of its May 28 price announcement.

Tata Motors has revealed fresh details of the upcoming 2026 Tata Tiago CNG ahead of its official price announcement on May 28. The updated hatchback is set to introduce paddle shifters with the AMT-equipped CNG variant, a feature not available in rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.
The latest teaser video showcases both exterior and cabin updates for the refreshed Tiago iCNG, while confirming that Tata Motors will continue to focus on offering premium features in the entry-level hatchback segment.
CNG-AMT combination to continue
Mechanically, the facelifted Tiago is expected to remain unchanged. Power will continue to come from the familiar 1.2-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine. In standard petrol form, the motor produces 86hp, while the CNG version develops 75.5hp.
Transmission options are likely to include a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, alongside a 5-speed AMT available on both petrol and CNG trims. Tata’s dual-cylinder iCNG setup, designed to preserve usable boot space, will also continue with the updated model. The hatchback is further expected to retain the brand’s direct start-in-CNG functionality.
Cabin gets major technology upgrade
Inside, the 2026 Tiago receives a more contemporary dashboard design with a layered layout replacing the older flowing design theme. The hatchback now features a fully digital driver’s display alongside the familiar 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system.
Among the biggest additions are the new paddle shifters for the CNG-AMT variant, offering drivers manual gear control, a first for the segment. Other feature highlights include a 360-degree camera, dual wireless charging pads, push-button start/stop and a rotary-style gear selector.
The overall cabin design appears cleaner and more premium, aimed at improving the Tiago’s appeal against newer rivals in the compact hatchback space.
Sharper styling with redesigned lighting
On the outside, the facelift brings subtle styling enhancements rather than a complete overhaul. The updated Tiago gets revised front and rear bumpers, refreshed LED headlamps and new tail-lamps connected by contrasting trim elements.
Tata Motors has also introduced a fresh alloy wheel design, helping give the hatchback a more modern road presence while retaining its familiar silhouette.
