The next-generation Hyundai Creta has been spotted testing again, and this time, the focus shifts squarely to the cabin. New spy images reveal a noticeable step up in the SUV’s interior tech, headlined by a larger, freestanding touchscreen and a more minimalistic driver display setup.

The new Creta adopts a standalone central infotainment screen that appears larger than the existing 10.25-inch unit. The interface running on it is expected to be based on Hyundai’s latest Pleos Connect software, bringing a redesigned UI with clearer graphics and improved usability. Key vehicle data such as speed, engine revs and fuel levels are now displayed within this updated ecosystem, suggesting tighter integration between infotainment and instrumentation.

The driver’s display, meanwhile, looks significantly slimmer than before, echoing a cleaner and more modern dashboard approach. It too is expected to run the Pleos Connect system, enabling features like navigation prompts, media information and vehicle readouts to be presented in a more streamlined format. Hyundai is also set to introduce a new AI-powered voice assistant, dubbed Gleo, which will initially manage core vehicle and convenience functions, with expanded capabilities likely to be rolled out via over-the-air updates.

One notable upgrade could be the addition of native wireless connectivity for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This would address a limitation in the current model, where the larger screen requires a wired connection or an external adapter for wireless use.

On the outside, test mules have been seen riding on larger, sharply styled alloy wheels that could go up to 19 inches. If introduced in India, these are likely to be reserved for higher trims or sportier variants, given that the current model tops out at 18-inch wheels.

Under the skin, the new Creta is expected to transition to Hyundai’s newer K3 platform, which also underpins the Kia Seltos. Powertrain options are likely to remain familiar, with the existing 1.5-litre petrol, turbo-petrol and diesel engines continuing alongside manual and automatic gearbox choices. The big addition, however, could be a 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid setup, marking the first time the Creta gets electrified assistance.

With a hybrid variant in the mix, the upcoming Creta will position itself more directly against rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, which already offer strong hybrid options. As the segment gradually embraces electrification, Hyundai’s best-seller looks set to evolve into a more tech-forward and efficiency-focused offering.
