Officials said two oval-shaped capsules wrapped in black tape were recovered from her private parts. The capsules contained a liquid chemical paste mixed with gold.

According to officials, the total weight of the seized substance was 643.28 grams. After a purification process carried out in the presence of experts, 553.07 grams of 24-carat gold of 999 purity was extracted.

The recovered gold is estimated to be worth Rs 83,29,234, with a tax implication of Rs 75,58,393.

Officials said the passenger attempted to evade customs duty by concealing the gold without declaring it. The gold has been seized, and the woman arrested under provisions of the Customs Act, 1962.

Further investigation is underway to determine whether the case is linked to an international smuggling network.
