Pune hotel owner, employee injured after armed attack following dispute
Armed men allegedly attacked a hotel owner and his employee at Shrinath Hotel in Velhe after an earlier dispute. Police have detained two suspects, are searching for two others and are investigating the case.
A hotel owner and one of his employees were seriously injured after they were allegedly attacked by a group of armed men in Pune district’s Velhe taluka late Monday night.
The incident took place around 10 pm at Shrinath Hotel in Kodawadi village. According to Pune Rural Police, the accused allegedly arrived at the hotel following an earlier dispute with the owner and soon became involved in a heated argument.
During the confrontation, one of the suspects allegedly fired a shot into the air, triggering panic in the area. When hotel employee Dashrath Shilimkar attempted to intervene, the attackers allegedly assaulted him and hotel owner Mhasku Tanaji Daswadkar with sharp weapons before fleeing the scene.
Police teams rushed to the spot after receiving information about the attack and launched an investigation. The injured men were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment and are reported to be in stable condition.
Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill said two accused have been detained in connection with the case. The detained suspects were identified as Omkar Suresh Ingulkar (19) and Vishal Appa Ingulkar (24), both residents of Surwad village in Velhe taluka.
Police said efforts are underway to trace two other accused, Ganesh Dharpale and Omkar Jadhav, who remain absconding.
A case has been registered at Velhe police station under Pune Rural Police, and further investigation is in progress.
