Caught on CCTV: Saleswoman hides jewellery in uniform, flees with Rs 1.66 crore loot
The saleswoman, Harshida Shetty, who had been working at the showroom for the past 11 months, allegedly hid jewellery inside her uniform before walking out of the store.

A shocking theft has surfaced from Ahmedabad, where a saleswoman at a jewellery showroom allegedly escaped with gold ornaments worth nearly 1.66 crore — all caught on CCTV cameras.
According to the complaint, Harshida Shetty, who had been working at the showroom for the past 11 months, allegedly hid jewellery inside her uniform before quietly walking out of the store on Monday.
She reportedly told co-workers that the owner had granted her leave for urgent work and left at around 4.30 pm.
The theft came to light later in the evening when staff noticed a gold bracelet missing from a display tray while attending to a customer. On checking further, showroom owner Darshanbhai realised Harshida had left without informing him.
CCTV footage allegedly showed her removing jewellery from shelves behind her counter, hiding the ornaments in her pockets, collecting her bag from the storeroom, and leaving.
A stock check later revealed that gold chains, rings, mangalsutras, pendants, earrings, watches and other ornaments worth around Rs 1.66 crore were missing.
Police said the accused woman’s phone has been switched off since the incident. A case has been registered and a search operation is underway.
