Who is betraying whom? Congress targets DMK over rumoured alliance with AIADMK
Congress leader Praveen Chakravarty used a satirical post to question the DMK over reports of contacts with the AIADMK in Tamil Nadu. The swipe also accused the party of trying to block Vijay-led TVK from aligning with secular parties at the BJP's behest.

Congress leader Praveen Chakravarty on Saturday took a dig at the DMK after reports said the MK Stalin-led party was in touch with its arch rival and NDA constituent, the AIADMK, to form a government in Tamil Nadu.
In a satirical post on X, he used a fictional exchange between parties and the people of the state to allege that the DMK was trying to prevent Vijay-led TVK from forming a post-poll alliance with "secular parties" at the behest of the BJP. Chakravarty, who heads the professional wing and technology and data cell of the Congress party, rhetorically asked, "Who is betraying who?"
The X post portrayed a conversation where the people of Tamil Nadu demand a secular government led by the TVK and the Congress stepping ahead to aid the rival party to help fulfil their ambition. Meanwhile, the DMK expresses its willingness to ally with the AIADMK in order to prevent the TVK from 'forming govt with support from secular parties.'

TAMIL NADU GOVERNMENT FORMATION DRAMA
The Congress is one of the parties that have extended support to TVK, which managed to win 108 seats in the recently held Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.
To form the government, the Vijay-led outfit needs 118 seats. The Congress, which contested the polls as part of a DMK-led coalition, has announced the support of all five of its MLA-elects in Tamil Nadu for a likely TVK-led government in the state.
Besides the Congress, the TVK had also reached out to CPI, CPI (M), IUML and the VCK – all allied with the DMK until the polls – for support after the election results were announced. While Congress and Left parties have responded positively to the call, the IUML has refused to extend any such support. Meanwhile, uncertainty continues to persist over VCK's stand.
FRIENDS TO FOES: DMK, CONGRESS
Chakravarty's post followed a bitterly worded resolution passed by DMK's MLAs-designate on Thursday against the Congress. In the resolution, the DMK accused the Congress of "backstabbing" it and betraying Tamil Nadu.
Criticising the Congress for severing ties with the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance and entering into a post-poll pact with the fledgling TVK, the DMK said, "The Congress has done to us in Tamil Nadu what the BJP does in many states."
The meeting was chaired by Stalin, who is also the outgoing Chief Minister. "This shows that the Congress party has not changed its old character. The Congress was allotted one Rajya Sabha seat and 28 assembly seats in our alliance. It shifted to an alternative party within three days, risking the victory achieved through the hard work of its coalition members," the resolution stated.
