O Panneerselvam joins DMK, calls Edappadi Palaniswami arrogant

Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam has joined the DMK ahead of the state elections, marking a significant political shift. Panneerselvam called AIADMK leader Edappadi Palaniswami an arrogant man and predicted the downfall of the AIADMK, stating there is no future for the party. He praised Chief Minister M K Stalin as a leader known for Dravidian pride and expressed confidence in DMK returning to power. Stalin welcomed Panneerselvam, calling him a humble and virtuous person who joined to safeguard Dravidian ideology. The AIADMK retaliated, calling Panneerselvam an ungrateful opportunist with no right to former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's legacy. The BJP also criticised him, saying he seeks power, not loyalty. Sources indicate DMK offered Panneerselvam two options: join as an ally or join the party directly. He may contest from the Bodinayakkanur seat in the upcoming elections.
