Tej Pratap Yadav to contest from Mahua seat on Jan Shakti Janata Dal ticket

Lalu Prasad Yadav's elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav, has announced his decision to contest elections from the Mahua constituency. After being expelled from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Tej Pratap will now contest on a ticket from his own party, the Jan Shakti Janata Dal. The move solidifies the rift between him and his younger brother, Tejashwi Yadav, who is seen as the RJD's heir apparent. Following his expulsion, Tej Pratap stated his intent to run, declaring, 'I will contest from Mahua'. His candidacy from Mahua, a seat he won in 2015, sets up a significant political battle, challenging the RJD's official candidate in the constituency.
