Poscaster Ranveer Allahbadia has said he will release a detailed documentary next month on the India’s Got Latent controversy, saying it will present a day-by-day account of what unfolded during the period. He announced it in a behind-the-scenes vlog shared after his appearance with Samay Raina on the latest episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show.

The appearance marked Allahbadia and Raina’s first on-screen reunion since the row around India’s Got Latent. The episode, which also featured Sunil Pal and is now streaming on Netflix, drew attention among fans for its roasts and candid moments, while Allahbadia’s vlog focused on his return to a comedy platform and his plan to address the controversy in detail.

In the vlog on his YouTube channel, BeerBiceps, Allahbadia said, “Everything that happened every day during the controversy has been recorded. With that documentary, I want to bury this controversy. I want to move on to the next phase of my life. So help me out.” He also asked viewers to comment on what perspective they would like to see in the documentary.

Return to the comedy stage

The video also showed parts of his on-set experience before featuring on The Great Indian Kapil Show. Allahbadia said returning to a comedy platform after the controversy felt daunting and described it as a “big media moment”, but said he was approaching it as a professional commitment. He also spoke about the emotional significance of being on the show, recalling that his late grandfather was a regular viewer.

The vlog captured his arrival on set, where he met Samay Raina’s close associate Balraj Singh Ghai and later greeted Sunil Pal outside the vanity van. The interactions between them gave the reunion a lighter setting.

The controversy

The controversy began during an episode of India’s Got Latent, when Allahbadia made an explicit remark to a contestant. The remark triggered widespread outrage and led to legal trouble for those involved in the episode.

The fallout also affected fellow guests Ashish Chanchlani, Apoorva Mukhija and Jaspreet Singh, who faced multiple FIRs. Following the backlash, Samay Raina was asked to remove all episodes of the show from his YouTube channel.
