The much-anticipated Season 4 of The White Lotus has commenced filming on the picturesque French Riviera. HBO has confirmed that the production is underway. The new season is reportedly set against the glamorous backdrop of the Cannes Film Festival.
It promises to follow a fresh ensemble of guests and staff at a White Lotus property over a week, unfolding amidst the festival's allure.
A glamorous Riviera setting
The official synopsis teases that the fourth season will unfold during the Cannes Film Festival, following a new group of White Lotus hotel guests and employees.
The stunning locations featured include the Airelles Chteau de la Messardire as the White Lotus du Cap and the Hotel Martinez as The White Lotus Cannes. Filming will also take place in St. Tropez, Monaco, and Paris, although the narrative will remain rooted in the Cote d’Azur.

The Cannes connection
The production will be present throughout the Cannes Film Festival, with the cast expected to grace the red carpet during the festival's second week, according to Variety.
This year's Cannes Film Festival, scheduled from May 12 to 23, will showcase films from renowned directors like Asghar Farhadi and Pedro Almodovar. It will also pay tributes to iconic figures such as Barbra Streisand.

India Today gave Season 3 a rating of 3.5 stars. A part of the review read, "Somewhere between the monastic chants and the violent gunfire, The White Lotus Season 3 tried to find enlightenment. It almost did - before falling head first into a koi pond with a dead girl in its arms."
"Mike White’s third outing in the White Lotus universe takes us to Thailand - an opulent land of elephants, emerald temples, and expensive fruit blenders. But while previous seasons married sharp satire with sticky social commentary, this season - though still enthralling - feels like it wandered off into the spiritual wilderness and never quite returned," it added.
The series previously also explored settings in Hawaii and Sicily.
