Odisha preps for Cyclone Dana: Evacuations, LPG stockpiling, animal rescue

Cyclone Dana is expected to make landfall in Odisha tonight, prompting authorities to put several districts on high alert.

Odisha's Chief Minister, Mohan Charan Majhi, confirmed that by Wednesday evening, over 30% of the targeted 1 million people had been evacuated to safety.

In response to the approaching storm, Bhubaneshwar airport suspended operations for 17 hours, from October 24 to 9 am on October 25, affecting or cancelling around 45 flights.

To manage the potential impact, 182 fire and rescue teams have been deployed across 14 districts, which are anticipated to face the worst of the cyclone.
