Gurugram couple used blades, sticks to torture minor help, says activist

A minor girl from Ranchi, hired as a domestic help, was brutally thrashed and forced to eat leftover food from a dustbin by a couple in Gurugram, activist Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj told India Today in an exclusive interview. The 14-year-old has been rescued and is receiving treatment for injuries all over her body.

The couple, who work in private companies, used sticks and blades to assault the girl. She was also branded with hot tongs.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday hugged and honoured 98-year-old Makhanlal Sarkar, one of the earliest and senior most members of the BJP.
