Mamata Banerjee slams Centre over citizenship bill

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee slammed the Centre over reintroducing the contentious citizenship amendment bill in Parliament House. The TMC leader called the proposed bill a “trap”, which she said, is akin to National Register of Citizens (NRC).

While addressing party workers in Coochbehar, the TMC chief said, “Don’t be scared of NRC. If anyone wants to play politics over the citizenship bill, remember all refugees are citizens of this country.” For more, watch this video.
