Whatever happened in Sandeshkhali will put everyone to Shame: PM Modi in West Bengal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday addressed the rally at Kachari Maidan in West Bengal's Barasat, the district headquarters town of North 24 Parganas where Sandeshkhali is located. PM Modi slammed the Mamata Banerjee-led state government over the Sandeshkhali incident. 

At the women's rally, PM Modi said "Under TMC's rule, the women of this land have been tortured. Whatever happened in Sandeshkhali will put everyone to shame, but the TMC government does not care about your issues. The TMC is putting efforts into protecting the accused of the people of Bengal. The state government has got a shock from the High Court as well as the Supreme Court. TMC leaders have done atrocities on the women of the state. The TMC has full confidence in their leader but not in the women of West Bengal."

Video: Vijay takes oath as Tamil Nadu CM amid loud cheers and chants

TVK leader C Joseph Vijay on Sunday took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu amid a sea of supporters, his friends and family, and several political leaders. Eight other TVK leaders were sworn in besides him, as ministers in the new government. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also attended the ceremony. The TVK managed to secure the Governor's nod to form the government after the Congress, the CPI, the CPI(M), the VCK, and IUML extended their support to the Vijay-led party for a colaition government.
