The teaser for The Silent Saviour: GOVERNOR is out, offering a first glimpse into a political-economic drama set against the backdrop of India’s financial crisis in the 1990s. Headlined by Manoj Bajpayee, the film is presented as a modern history drama inspired by true events.

Backed by Sunshine Pictures, the film was first announced earlier this year with a poster released on Bajpayee’s birthday. The newly released teaser now introduces the actor as an RBI Governor navigating one of the country’s most turbulent economic periods.

The makers describe the film as the story of an “unsung patriot” set during one of India’s worst economic meltdowns. The teaser hints at high political stakes, financial turmoil and a larger story rooted in untold historical events from the 1990s.

With intense visuals and hard-hitting dialogues, the teaser positions Bajpayee in a role unlike any he has played before. The actor appears at the centre of a system grappling with crisis, as the film revisits a defining chapter in India’s economic history.

The Silent Saviour: GOVERNOR is directed by Chinmay Mandlekar and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah. The film is co-produced by Aashin A. Shah and written by Suvendu Bhattacharyjee, Saurabh Bharat, Ravi Asrani and Vipul Amrutlal Shah.

The music has been composed by Amit Trivedi, while the lyrics are penned by Javed Akhtar.
