Happiness is what I'm working for: Taapsee Pannu shares her Bollywood journey

Actress Taapsee Pannu spoke on her films, journey in Bollywood and more at India Today e-Conclave Inspiration on Saturday. She said: "Sanity and happiness is what I am eventually working for and if that negative energy around me, I don’t think I’ll be a happy person."

When asked what has been an inspiration for her in her life, Taapsee Pannu said: "All that matters is that am I waking up with a smile on my face every day, am I sleeping with a smile on my face, am I looking forward to spending my day with the people I am gonna meet. Just that high you get when you are happy has inspired me to make sure that I am living on my own terms in a very happy life. So, that inspiration for me is happiness. That one keyword of living a happy life is what drives me every day."

In an interview with India Today, Taapsee Pannu also spoke on her take on the ongoing insider vs outsider debate and said, "By going out there abusing anyone- insider/outsider ..that's how it's not gonna change."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday hugged and honoured 98-year-old Makhanlal Sarkar, one of the earliest and senior most members of the BJP. The scene unfolded on the stage ahead of Suvendu Adhikari's swearing-in as West Bengal's Chief Minister in Kolkata. PM Modi also touched Sarkar's feet and presented a shawl to him as a mark of respect. In 1952, Sarkar was arrested in Kashmir while he was accompanying Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee as the latter was marching to hoist the tricolour there. BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya described the elderly party leader as "one of the earliest grassroots figures associated with the nationalist movement in post-Independence India."
