Amitabh Bachchan has revealed why he dislikes taking days off even at 83. In a recent blog post, the actor shared that not working daily disrupts his sense of routine and leaves him feeling uneasy, highlighting how discipline and staying active help him maintain mental balance.

In his post, Bachchan described experiencing an uncharacteristically “lazy” day, something he said does not sit well with him. He wrote that it feels “disturbing to not be working each day”, explaining how deeply ingrained routine and discipline are in his life.

The actor noted that when he does not follow a schedule, the rhythm of his day is disrupted. Without the habit of regular work, he said, even simple tasks seem out of sync, and the day begins to feel unfamiliar and unproductive. Bachchan reflected that such moments make him question why the day isn’t unfolding the way he expects.

Expanding on the thought, he suggested that understanding this tendency within oneself could help bring a sense of calm. However, he acknowledged that not everyone is able to achieve that balance, adding that for some, this lack of routine can lead to anxiety.

Bachchan also touched upon the impact of anxiety on overall well-being, noting that “living in anxiety is harmful for the mind and body.” He cautioned against allowing such feelings to take over, especially when they stem from a break in routine or habit.

The actor concluded his post on a reflective note, once again underlining the importance of staying engaged and active, something he continues to prioritise even at this stage of his life.
